Purpose: To encourage and educate the local community to make small changes that can positively affect climate change.
Partners: Blackwood Uniting Church, Australian Parents for Climate Action, Conservation Council SA, Blackwood Sustainable Communities, City of Mitcham. Discussion with Renew (formerly Alternative technology Association).
Stalls / displays (preliminary information)
Not for profit and commercial organisations are being invited to have a presence on the day to showcase information and ideas in line with the event purpose.
Stalls / displays should demonstrate at least one easy action that the public can make to reduce our carbon emissions footprint.
Stalls / displays currently being negotiated include:
- Repair café
- Recycled surfboards
- Houses for a changing climate
- Australian Electric Vehicle Association (AEVA) & City of Mitcham; electric cars
- Climate grief support
- Beeswax / handmade wraps
- Joan’s Patch Kitchen Garden
- Ecolateral store
- Permaculture
- Blackwood Books
- Book launch “Together we Can”.
- City of Mitcham (stall, display, information)
- Resilient South
- State Flora nursery
Note: some of these may be speakers rather than stalls (or both) following further detailed discussions.
